Community Engagement

Purpose and Scope

The purpose of the Community Engagement working team is to stay abreast of key civic challenges and opportunities. Participants coordinate with key partners in order to provide guidance on the engagement of the CELC on specific issues that have the potential to affect the economic health of Charlotte.

Priorities

• Map public policy issues with the ability to impact economic mobility in Charlotte and determine CELC role.

• Conduct second class of Charlotte Elective Leadership Program.

• Explore potential for a 501c4 to support a slate of candidates for public office (separate from CELC).

• Support the CLT Alliance’s “boots on the ground” advocacy efforts by providing leadership and strategic guidance.
